The Bullard Independent School District (BISD) tabbed Chad Bentley as the new principal at Bullard High School on Monday, per a report from Tyler CBS affiliate KYTX.

KYTX reported that Bentley returns to East Texas from the Hill Country, where he was the assistant principal and the interim academic dean at Canyon Lake High School in the Comal Independent School District (CISD).

“I am extremely excited to welcome Mr. Chad Bentley to Bullard ISD and to see where he will lead Bullard High School,” BISD Superintendent Dr. Jack Lee said, the station reported. “He is committed to building relationships, fostering a positive culture and consistent growth. In short, he aligns directly with what we believe here at Bullard ISD.”

According to a BISD-issued press release obtained by Tyler ABC affiliate KLTV, Bentley has a bachelor’s in music education from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, and a master’s in educational leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA) in Nacogdoches.

Bentley’s career in education began about a decade ago with the Malakoff Independent School District (MISD), where he worked as the head band director and fine arts coordinator.

He also worked in the Cayuga and Eustace public school districts, which are also located in East Texas, the release said.

“Our responsibility in education is to seek the continued growth of every student, staff member, parent and community member by creating and maintaining authentic relationships,” Bentley said, KYTX reported. “We will create a truly collaborative culture of servant leaders who will support all stakeholders in meeting their professional goals while propelling them into the future equipped to excel in any undertaking.”

According to BISD, Bentley is married to a fellow educator, and the couple have three children and a daughter-in-law, who’s married to their eldest son.

BISD is approximately 20 miles south of Tyler and has an enrollment of more than 2,600 students, per the U.S. News & World Report’s website.
