Joanne Shofner, a Republican who was elected in 2025 to represent Texas’s 11th House district, posted several updates on her X (formerly Twitter) account regarding recent legislative developments and political sentiments in Texas.
On August 28, 2025, Shofner expressed gratitude to another legislator with the post: “Oh, yes he did!! Thanks Representative McLaughlin!!!”
Later that day, she commented on the passage of HB 25 concerning ivermectin distribution by pharmacists: “Ivermectin without a prescription, HB 25. Pharmacists MAY dispense it. True. However… ‘Go woke & Go Broke’. Freedom loving Texans will get the word out on where to go, or not. Quickly!! Bud light, Cracker Barrel……”
The following day, Shofner noted legislative progress on two bills with another post: “SB 8 and HB 7 has passed the Texas House.”
Shofner assumed office after winning election in 2025 for Texas’s 11th House district seat, succeeding Travis Clardy.
