Joanne Shofner, a Republican elected in 2025 to represent Texas’ 11th House district, has used her social media platform to comment on recent legislative developments and political issues relevant to Texans.

On August 19, 2025, Shofner expressed appreciation for actions taken to protect rural communities and farmland. She wrote, “This is huge for our rural communities! Thank you @Brookerollins27 for protecting our farmland and not wasting our tax dollars! Not to mention, protecting our soil from being incinerated by Chinese made solar panels!!”

Later that same day, Shofner criticized a fellow politician’s fundraising activities during a strike. She stated, “She is on “strike” while she fundraises. So technically, she is making money off the taxpayers and her donors. The Rules, in which she voted for, allow her to stay. ‘Well, well, well. How the turn tables.’ (Michael Scott) @ShelleyLuther” This comment references Shelley Luther and suggests a conflict between official duties and campaign fundraising.

On August 21, 2025, Shofner celebrated the passage of House Bill 4 with the post: “Bammm! HB 4 past! The Big Beautiful Map!! @realDonaldTrump @GregAbbott_TX @Burrows4TX”

Shofner succeeded Travis Clardy as state representative for Texas’ 11th House district following her election in 2025.
