Joanne Shofner, recently elected to represent Texas’s 11th House district in the state legislature, posted a series of messages on her social media account highlighting her endorsement by Governor Greg Abbott and legislative developments affecting East Texas.

On August 25, 2025, Shofner wrote: “I am so honored and humbled to have @GregAbbott_TX endorsement and to represent East Texas! HD 11 will continue to have a seat at the table to fight for our East Texas values! https://t.co/R6deg7A25z”.

Later that same day, she replied to another user with: “Same….. @JanisHolt59 https://t.co/5vL67y870R”.

On August 27, 2025, Shofner referenced recent legislative action regarding over-the-counter access to ivermectin by stating: ““Not today Satan!!” Ivermectin OTC HB 25 passed 2nd reading!! @Burrows4TX @GregAbbott_TX @TXforVaxChoice https://t.co/fuW2hC1AlG”.

Shofner is a Republican who began serving in the Texas State House in 2025 after winning election for District 11. She succeeded Travis Clardy as the representative for this area of East Texas.
