Joanne Shofner, a Republican elected in 2025 to represent Texas’s 11th House district, posted a series of statements on her social media account addressing themes of faith, constitutional rights, and recent events.

On September 12, 2025, Shofner wrote: “As at the time of the death of our Lord, evil celebrates… but only temporarily. We know the long game and Who wins in the end.

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the Victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 15:57

May I be bold like Charlie.”

The following day, on September 13, she commented on an unspecified incident: ” He was killed because of the 1st amendment. Not the 2nd amendment. https://t.co/SmZtvBG9eo”.

Later that same day, Shofner added: “The most historic and moving testimony. Our lives will never be the same. https://t.co/NaasdBxSEh”.

Shofner assumed office after being elected to replace Travis Clardy as state representative for Texas’s 11th House district in 2025.
