The Texas Water Development Board approved a resolution providing financial assistance to the Angelina and Neches River Authority in Angelina County.

The $2.6 million comes with the majority being a forgivable loan and the rest being a loan. The county is expected to use the funds to improve the wastewater system.

The investment in the wastewater system will save the county over $400,000 over the life of the loan. The funds come from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, which was established to help counties address wastewater system problems in the state.

The improvements being made are to the lift stations and a system to help transfer wastewater to other wastewater facilities. These improvements will improve the capability, capacity, and efficiency. All of the improvements and projects are supported by data collected by the TWDB.
