How many students were enrolled in Nacogdoches ISD schools in 2021-22 school year?

There were 5,903 students enrolled in Nacogdoches ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 0.6% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.6% of them were boys, and 48.4% were girls.

The most represented ethnicity among Nacogdoches ISD students was Hispanic, accounting for 49% of the student population.

Nacogdoches ISD roughly covers schools within Nacogdoches County with its main office in Nacogdoches.

Among the 10 schools in Nacogdoches ISD, Nacogdoches High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,754 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
