Diboll ISD Education: 1,669 students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 1,669 students enrolled in Diboll ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 4.6% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.7% of them were boys, and 47.3% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 52.4% of the Diboll ISD total enrollment.

Diboll ISD roughly covers schools within Angelina County with its main office in Diboll.

Among the six schools in Diboll ISD, Diboll High School recorded the highest enrollment of 521 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
