Livingston ISD welcomed 4,061 students in 2022-23 school year

There were 4,061 students enrolled in Livingston ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.9% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.2% of them were boys, and 47.8% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 57.4% of the Livingston ISD total enrollment.

Livingston ISD roughly covers schools within Polk County with its main office in Livingston.

Among the seven schools in Livingston ISD, Livingston High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,128 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
