Crockett ISD schools Education: 46 multiracial students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 46 multiracial students enrolled in Crockett ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2.1% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Crockett ISD schools welcomed 1,203 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, multiracial students comprised 3.8% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Crockett ISD roughly covers schools within Houston County and has a main office in Crockett.

Among the four schools in Crockett ISD schools, Crockett Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of multiracial students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 21 students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
