There were 3 American Indian students enrolled in Crockett ISD schools in 2022-23 school year

There were three American Indian students enrolled in Crockett ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 25% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Crockett ISD schools welcomed 1,203 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.2% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Crockett ISD roughly covers schools within Houston County and has a main office in Crockett.

Among the four schools in Crockett ISD schools, Crockett Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of one student.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
