Jasper ISD schools Education: 879 African American students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 879 African American students enrolled in Jasper ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.8% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Jasper ISD schools welcomed 2,211 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 39.8% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Jasper ISD roughly covers schools within Jasper County and has a main office in Jasper.

Among the four schools in Jasper ISD schools, Jean C. Few Primary School recorded the highest enrollment of African American students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 308 students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
