There were 995 students enrolled in Pineywoods Community Academy in the 2021-22 school year, a slight decrease from the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 52.1% of them were girls, and 47.9% were boys.

The most represented ethnicity among Pineywoods Community Academy students was white, accounting for 48.5% of the student population.

Pineywoods Community Academy roughly covers schools within Angelina County with its main office in Lufkin.

Among the four schools in Pineywoods Community Academy, Sarah Strinden Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 503 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
