There were 1,455 students enrolled in Central ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 0.7% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50.8% of them were boys, and 49.2% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 71.8% of the Central ISD total enrollment.

Central ISD roughly covers schools within Angelina County with its main office in Pollok.

Among the four schools in Central ISD, Central Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 631 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
