Martinsville ISD schools Education: 1 American Indian student was enrolled in schools in 2021-22 school year

There was one American Indian student enrolled in Martinsville ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Martinsville ISD schools welcomed 345 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.3% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Martinsville ISD roughly covers schools within Nacogdoches County and has a main office in Nacogdoches.

Martinsville School was the only school in the district which enrolled American Indian students, welcoming one student in the 2021-22 school year.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
