There were 252 students enrolled in Stephen F. Austin State University Charter School in the 2022-23 school year, 1.6% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.4% of them were boys, and 47.6% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 67.1% of the Stephen F. Austin State University Charter School total enrollment.

Stephen F. Austin State University Charter School roughly covers schools within Nacogdoches County with its main office in Nacogdoches.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
