There were 835 students enrolled in Woden ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 9.9% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 53.1% of them were girls, and 46.9% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 72.7% of the Woden ISD total enrollment.

Woden ISD roughly covers schools within Nacogdoches County with its main office in Nacogdoches.

Among the three schools in Woden ISD, Woden Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 455 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
