There were 436 students enrolled in Douglass ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 4.6% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 53.2% of them were boys, and 46.8% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 75.2% of the Douglass ISD total enrollment.

Douglass ISD roughly covers schools within Nacogdoches County with its main office in Douglass.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
