Chester ISD Education: 213 students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 213 students enrolled in Chester ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 54.5% of them were boys, and 45.5% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 86.9% of the Chester ISD total enrollment.

Chester ISD roughly covers schools within Tyler County with its main office in Chester.

Among the two schools in Chester ISD, Chester High School recorded the highest enrollment of 135 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
