Enrollment Analysis: white students comprised 46.8% of Pineywoods Community Academy School District's student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 467 white students enrolled in Pineywoods Community Academy School District in the 2022-23 school year, 3.3% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Pineywoods Community Academy School District welcomed 997 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 46.8% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Pineywoods Community Academy School District roughly covers schools within Angelina County and has a main office in Lufkin.

Among the three schools in Pineywoods Community Academy School District, Sarah Strinden Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 226 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
