Enrollment Analysis: Hispanic students comprised 2.2% of Zavalla ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were seven Hispanic students enrolled in Zavalla ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 46.2% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Zavalla ISD schools welcomed 323 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 2.2% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Zavalla ISD roughly covers schools within Angelina County and has a main office in Zavalla.

Among the two schools in Zavalla ISD schools, Zavalla Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of four students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
