Nacogdoches ISD schools Education: 2,869 Hispanic students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 2,869 Hispanic students enrolled in Nacogdoches ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.8% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Nacogdoches ISD schools welcomed 5,943 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 48.3% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Nacogdoches ISD roughly covers schools within Nacogdoches County and has a main office in Nacogdoches.

Among the eight schools in Nacogdoches ISD schools, Nacogdoches High School recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 875 students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
