There was 1 Pacific Islander student enrolled in Nacogdoches ISD schools in 2022-23 school year

There was one Pacific Islander student enrolled in Nacogdoches ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 50% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Nacogdoches ISD schools welcomed 5,943 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Pacific Islander students comprised 0% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Nacogdoches ISD roughly covers schools within Nacogdoches County and has a main office in Nacogdoches.

Nacogdoches High School was the only school in the district which enrolled Pacific Islander students, welcoming one student in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
