There were 401 white students enrolled in Colmesneil ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Colmesneil ISD schools welcomed 452 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 88.7% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Colmesneil ISD roughly covers schools within Tyler County and has a main office in Colmesneil.

Among the two schools in Colmesneil ISD schools, Colmesneil Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 236 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
